In the past 5 years I have moved from photographing architecture and the landscape to painting these subjects. The camera is now just for recording images relevant to gathering source material for my paintings and I will often use my phone to record these images. In 2017 I completed the Diploma course in oil painting at the Norfolk painting school. This concentrated on rigorous painting technique and techniques used throughout the history of painting. We were encouraged to read extensively around the lives of artists and to use this to inform our studies.
Since Sept 2017 I have been attending the Landscape Painting Course at the Leith School of Art, continuing until Sept 2019. This course is about developing ideas and concepts through gathering and working with source material around a small number of subjects.
